NMC develops New Website for Old Fashioned Town
The small town of Hertford, North Carolina came to New Media Campaigns with an interesting problem. They needed a new website to showcase their old fashioned town, but keep technology from interfering with the “Mayberry” feel.
Hertford is the seventh oldest town in North Carolina and boasts that it once was the home to the Algonquin Indians. In fact, the Perquimans County is named after the Native American phrase for “land of beautiful women.” It has fantastic historical districts including a courthouse from 1825 and colonial revival homes.
NMC partnered with the Liaison Design Group to put together a website that exemplified the charisma of this historic town. A classic design pictorially portrays the beautiful landscape of Hertford on all pages of the website. Also, an easy to navigate sidebar allows visitors to quickly find desired information.
The site features a separate landing page for the Perquimans Industrial Park, a major manufacturing center for all types of sea vessels. NMC’s HiFi Content Management System, makes it easy for the town to control both Hertford’s website and the industrial park’s website. Members of the town were extremely satisfied with the ease of updating both sites with just one, simple to use CMS.
The site also has a detailed image gallery. This online photo album is great for showing visitors the breathtaking scenery and local traditions of this southern hospitality centered town.
NMC, a Carrboro, NC based web development company, has launched over 500 websites for a variety of clientele including businesses, universities, politicians, and non-profits and was happy to assist the town of Hertford with their growing online presence.
