Chapel Hill Economic Development supports the town’s growth by offering business resources and facilitating strategic partnerships and initiatives. Ready for their own standalone economic development website, they came to us for a design that would highlight their work and showcase all that Chapel Hill has to offer.

Working towards the goal of an engaging new website, we created a bright and modern design that combines great photography with helpful information about the area.

A High-Impact Homepage

To differentiate the site from other regional econ-dev efforts, the homepage features a striking dark background and an animated heading that changes to show the variety of people that Chapel Hill attracts. The homepage also showcases ambient video, statistics, key projects, and recent business news.

Scalable Interior Layouts

The site’s interiors continue to build on the bold style of the homepage. Clean white backgrounds add visual contrast and large images show welcoming scenes of residents, local businesses, and town events. The site includes numerous custom templates for content like news, individual projects, lifestyle attributes, and more.

Interactive features are sprinkled throughout the site to engage users and emphasize important content. One of the most prominent examples of this is the sticky “Contact Us” tab that appears on every page. Users can expand the tab to see contact information and subscribe to the organization's newsletter.

Built on a WordPress base, the site is set up with scalability in mind. Using the intuitive content management system, admins can quickly and easily update existing pages, publish news items, and build out entirely new layouts using a pre-designed library of content and image blocks.
