Greg Gannon Food Drive
The Greg Gannon Food Drive is a non-profit organization based in Washington, D.C. that recently celebrated its 25th anniversary. The organization approached New Media Campaigns to create a new site design to mark this milestone. The Greg Gannon Food Drive has been collecting and distributing cans of food since the late 1980s. The organization has provided food to many poor individuals, and has collected 950,000 cans of food during its 25-year existence.
The new site design is filled with bright colors. Fun illustrated images featured on the site reflect the positive, community-oriented mission associated with the organization. The designers featured images of food drive participants and bold shades of orange, green and blue in a clean, beautiful design.
The site, which was built on the HiFi Content Management System, has a simple sign-up sheet that makes it easy for anyone to participate in canned food drives. The site also highlights sponsors and the groups of people who benefit from the organization’s efforts at the bottom of several pages of the site. The Territories page features a list of districts where people collect and distribute food, and the leaders and maps associated with each district.
NMC is proud of this project, and believes that the brilliant and functional site design will attract and enable communities to support the organization’s objectives.
