Our Work

Inter-Faith Council

The Inter-Faith Council for Social Service (IFC) is an organization that provides basic services and resources to individuals in need in Chapel Hill and Carrboro. Seven women created IFC in 1963 to combat poverty in the local community.

IFC approached New Media Campaigns to develop and design a non-profit website that projects the organization’s mission, services, and impact on the community. NMC crafted a website that is friendly, colorful and a reflection of IFC. There are images on the homepage of individuals donating goods to IFC, and of the community engaging in IFC projects and events.

The Community House is IFC’s transitional housing facility for homeless men. IFC is building a new Community House facility to accommodate the program, and the organization asked that NMC highlight this project on the site. NMC has a page that is dedicated to the building of the new Community House building, and the services and goals that are associated with the facility.

The organization wanted to highlight client stories on the site. NMC features testimonials and stories from IFC clients in the main navigation, and in the sidebar. The sidebar cycles through several quotes, and displays a different quote each time the page loads.

NMC also highlights IFC volunteer opportunities, and encourages visitors to contribute to IFC by placing links prominently on the site. The sidebar of every page on the site, and the main navigation feature links to IFC volunteer and contribute pages. Every page on the site also features a list of services with simple, illustrated icons, so that visitors can quickly access additional information about IFC’s services.
