Running Lane, a start-up that offers personalized coaching to individuals who are training for races, consulted NMC to design and develop a site and app to support the company’s services. The company offers training services from real coaches to runners with different levels of expertise, from casual walkers to Olympic-level athletes.
NMC developers and designers created a stunning, responsive site. A large photo of an individual running on a road with colorful, fallen leaves greets visitors to the site. The site serves as a venue to learn more about the company, and sign-up as a first time participant, casual runner, competitive running or high school athlete. Colorful call-to-action buttons on the homepage and interior layouts draw users’ attention to the company’s services.
Running Lane wanted to have an area of the site that highlighted customer testimonials, and an area to discuss and share ideas. NMC created the testimonial page to display clients’ views on the company, and the discussion board to allow visitors to share and comment on relevant articles and stories.
In addition to the public site, NMC built a custom online application to facilitate interaction between coaches and runners. The app allows paying members to have virtual, one-on-one interactions with a coach to develop running plans in preparation for upcoming races.
The application features a schedule, displayed as a calendar and a list, where runners can view the coach’s proposed schedule, and notes. Users can also list their personal notes, and manage their subscription on the app. The app also includes an iCalendar feed, so users can integrate the app with their personal calendar.
