We Have Moved to a New Office!

We are excited to announce that our team has moved to a new location in downtown Carrboro.  We spent the previous three years in a building about a mile away from our new location -- our old office served us well, and we made great memories (and websites) there, but we couldn't be more excited about our new space.

The new office is actually a storefront in downtown Carrboro, putting us right on the street and looking out onto downtown's main intersection.  Above is picture taken by Kris that shows the office at dusk.  We're excited about the hustle and bustle happening outside our windows and all of the great restaurants within an easy walking distance of the new location.

While we were happy with our space, there were several motivating factors to make a move:

1. Space. When we first moved into our last office, there were three of us and plenty of room.  When we left, there were ten NMC'ers and space was getting tight.  The new office offered more square footage, but more importantly it allowed us to rethink our layout.  We were able to start from scratch by knocking down walls and putting up others that better fit our team and how we're growing.  Overall, we now have more of an open plan so we're all working closer together rather than a more compartmentalized layout at our last place.
2. Visibility. In our last office, we were on the second floor of a building surrounded by a dozen other firms.  While we really liked our neighbors, we lived a pretty anonymous existence.  There was no way for anyone in the community outside of that building to know we existed, and we're hoping our new location right downtown will help bolster our visibility in the area and help us more quickly come to mind as local businesses and non-profits decide to take on web projects.
3. Location. What a difference a mile makes.  Our last office was within immediate walking distance of three restaurants and one coffeeshop.  The new space is right downtown and puts us within easy walking of more than a dozen great restaurants (Tyler's, Acme, and Carrburritos are just a few of our favorites), three different coffeeshops, Weaver Street Market, and plenty more.  The location lets our team take advantage of all the offerings of Carrboro and Chapel Hill.  We're all huge advocates for this community, and we're excited that our office location now furthers that commitment.

It has been an exciting five years for NMC, and we look at this new location as the start of another chapter in our history.  We're still working on getting settled in and adding artwork to the walls, but we're incredibly excited to be in the new space.  We'll be hosting a happy hour soon for local clients, and if you're in the area, feel free to stop in and say hi!
